Some of my hobbies include creative writing, playing games, and watching anime. Some of my favorite animes include, Record of Ragnarok, Sakamoto Days, and Bleach. All of these hold a special place in my heart but not as much as my favorite games. Some of these games are Cyberpunk: 2077, Raft, and my favorite game of all time, Danganronpa. I have two main writing projects as of right now and those are The Hysteria Project and Dead Grid Nomads. The Hysteria Project is my favorite out of the two projects for multiple reasons. Some of my favorite medias (that aren't games and anime) are Dexter (Books and Show), Blood Meridian, Invincible, and many others.
I am Zachary Reed, and I am a senior in the Gaming & Multimedia class at Robert H. Gibson Technical
School and a student at Rensselaer City School District. I am a cunning and active game designer,
producer, and creative writer. My love for this field started when I was a child, building houses in
Minecraft using diamonds, emeralds, and gold, to designing my own games, creating, mixing, and
mastering sound effects for games/creative projects. My creativity is like a flare: as soon as you
spark it, it burns for hours to months. I’ve always boasted about how I’m going to be the best Game
Designer in the world, now with my goals set into place I can confidently say that I mean it. I love
learning new things that could help me in my field or my future.
Starting from the beginning was rough, especially since I didn’t know how to make a game, but at
Gibson Tech, that changed fast. My instructor, Mr. Stevenson turned my passion for making games into
a goal rather than a dream that couldn’t be seen or heard. Without him, I don’t think I could say
that I had a goal in life. As the days went on, I developed technical, workplace, and personal
skills through a program known as SkillsUSA. SkillsUSA helped me hone my skills in all categories,
it also helped me meet people and connect with others. Even when I did not place in the state
competition for Banner Design, I learned the value of perseverance and practice. Currently, I am
making an interactive game for SkillsUSA and that I’m hopefully going to win with my team. Some of
my favorite subjects include history and english because I love storytelling, writing my own stories
and games. Some of my written works (which haven’t been released yet) are A Dance with Guilt, A
Tale’s Edge, and The Last Moon. I also adore researching subjects for games and stories not just for
the project I’m working on but also for general knowledge. I even design my own weapons for a
mini-project I’m working on. I’m also a social butterfly, which in turn has me communicate a lot
with peers or colleagues.
My passion for Gaming and Multimedia is something that can’t be explained by words,
but I live through the games that I make. I love turning ideas into experiences through writing and
making games. Having skills in music, writing, and design is an extraordinary thing to hold onto
when making games. What makes this even greater for me is being able to receive constructive
criticism to make every project better.
I have and still do indulge in community events such as Holiday House that was hosted by Robert H.
Gibson Technical School as a way to introduce people to the programs here. I helped out in that
by putting my game: Plague and the Seven Syringes out on a computer and having people
playtest and give me feedback and also helping people where they needed it (holding the door,
greeting people, making sure people were warm
and comfortable, etc.) I'm also as of 3/24/26 looking for interships as a way to develop and improve
my skills to push myself further in my field.
I've also participated for 4 years in the Rensselaer Craft Fair where I helped vendors set up and was
the easter bunny. This allowed me to connect with people who were kids from the elderly.
